Seance is a spooky murder mystery adventure where a psychic communes with the dead to try and figure out who killed them.
Created for Ludum Dare, in Seance you are a psychic who has been called in to try and piece together a string of crimes and murders. The crimes are a little strange and the witnesses were all killed in different ways, so piecing together the mystery will be tricky – or rather it would be if you didn’t have the ability to talk to the dead. You do this by summoning the victims via an ouija board, interrogating them for useful facts and then using those facts/words to find out more information from other recently deceased witnesses. There’s a lot you can discover if you know the right words to use.
It’s a fantastic little murder mystery with great artwork, a fun premise and a superb voice cast (including Thomas Was Alone dev Mike Bithell). You probably will see the ending coming, but it’s a satisfying conclusion nonetheless and it’s a clever format for a murder mystery game. Highly recommended.
