Connection Haunted is a freaky No Players Online inspired first person horror game set in the cursed server of an old multiplayer FPS.
Connection Haunted draws inspiration from No Players Online, but the setting, visual style and narrative are totally different. In the game you find yourself playing alone on the servers of an old capture the flag FPS game. Obviously playing capture the flag in single player is very easy, but it’s not long until things start to get freaky as lots of weird ghosts and another player appears…
Much like No Players Online, Connection Haunted does a great job of relaying the eerie feeling of playing on the empty servers of a long forgotten FPS. It’s a pretty terrifying experience with an interesting narrative and some big jump scares. It gets very intense later on in the game and there are two different endings to discover (though he “good” ending is quite abrupt so you may just think you’ve been caught by a ghost). A creepy cursed server horror well worth delving into. Highly recommended.
